Salmon Teriyaki
Salmon is always expensive therefore, I have to do my best to give justice to this rare dish (rare in our kitchen…LOL).
Japanese foods strike my palate 100% – and I mean the 100%. There’s no Japanese food that I can’t eat, but for my hubby and daughty they are just about less than half a percent so aside from thinking of the best recipe to do with the expensive salmon I also have to be creative for them to like this Japanese dish which I already decided to cook and yeah they have no choice at all.
Below is my recipe for everyone to try. Happy Home-Cooking!

INGREDIENTS:
2 slices salmon fillets
2 tbsp. teriyaki sauce (I used Kikkoman)
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. grated ginger
1/2 tsp. sesame seeds
2 cups steamed rice
METHOD:
1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, sugar and grated ginger together. Stir until sugar dissolves.
2. Add in the salmon fillets and marinade for atleast 15 minutes.
3. Heat the grill. Grill the salmon (I used grilling pan) about 3-5 mins skin side down then turn over and cook for a further 2 mins and remember to keep the fillet pink-ish for real freshness.
4. A few minutes before the salmon is done, transfer the remaining marinade into a small saucepan and boil until sauce thickens a bit.
5. Get the rice ready into individual servings and place the salmon of top. Spread the sauce over the salmon and rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

I love Salmon, its healthy and slimming food. I have been looking for better ways to prepare this dish for a while. These days I make sure that the Salmon that I buy is from sustainable fishing sources. Not mentioning Sushi made with raw Salmon.
