We headed home last month for two weeks (May 21 – June 4) and had a feast. It was a quick vacation, we only had one day to see my parents. None of my friends even knew we were visiting again. Of course part of any homecoming is to eat so we had a little feast. Red Ribbon spaghetti, empanada, and chocolate cake, Pizza hut’s super supreme pizza, pancit bihon and grilled chicken from andok’s. We wanted it to look like a mini party and bought a banner, a few balloons and even thought of wearing matching funny shirts but we got so busy we never had the time to take pics.

Family time is all about having fun. Bon Apetit!

When we went home for a short 2 weeks, I was out of touch with my friends online and it took me about less than another 2 weeks to get back to my old routine. I missed out a lot and I need to do a whole lot of catching up. Was checking my friend’s cake creations and marveled of how wonderfully she designed each cake. I seriously think I needed a degree online on cake design to get to where she is right now. There are a lot of online courses on baking, pastry making and fondant cake decorating available here in London. Maybe I can get a degree online after my first trimester which is nearing soon. Who knows, someday with more patience and determination, I can be half as good as her.
Check out her beautiful creations, so neatly designed and not to mention they are edible too!

Every year we would celebrate our birthdays in a simple way, eat at home with some friends. For Mark and Alyssa’s birthday last year we had a simple gathering in our house with the same set of friends for guests. So I was thinking maybe it’s nice to invest in some color coordinated serving plates and my eyes are set on these.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have all those matching white porcelain serving plates? I’m sure my guests will be so thrilled to try out my dishes with all these nice plates. Wish I can expand our budget this month so I can convince my husband Mark to get me those porcelain serving plates and a gps golf watch for my uncle’s birthday next month.
