FTF: Pastel Flowery Cake

FTF: Pastel Flowery Cake

…and here’s another cake for you all. Now, I hear you say, “Cake again?!?” Uhmm, yeah. It’s because I am practicing my hands on designing cakes and cupcakes so if and when the cake business pushes through, which I don’t have an idea if it will ever be, I already have a portfolio on hand.

Pastel Flower Cake

I am very happy that one of my most awaited orders from CSN store UK came in just in time. Can you see the cake stand? ;) Well, I know this cake is very very simple, but hopefully the creativity in me blooms as I go.

Did you know that Mother’s Day here in the UK is on the 4th Sunday of Lent so this year, it’s on the 3rd of April and so there’s where I got the inspiration. While making this, somehow it saddened me thinking that this should be a very nice cake for my dearest lola come Mother’s Day. Has she been alive, I would definitely be very proud to show her how much I’ve improved in the kitchen and that I can actually make cakes. Then suddenly I imagined how she would react, she would be like, “Oh yeah, it’s nice, but can I even taste that? The funeral cost is no joke these days and I have no plans of dying this early.” Haha! She was diabetic, that’s why. Oh, how I am missing her… :(

FTF: Peppa and George Cupcakes

FTF: Peppa and George Cupcakes

And another cupcake creation by yours truly.

Peppa and George Cupcakes

I haven’t got the chance to fully prepare for this batch of cupcakes so sorry, it was a bit of a mess. ;) I will have to stress out my mistakes this time, most especially the George cupcake – where one of the ears and both legs are missing, plus the smudge of red on the face. It’s really difficult to work with incomplete tools. Cake craft supplies are a pricey so I have to purchase them slowly. The cake wasn’t that successful too since I missed a method and my dearest hubby who was tasked to take them out of the oven was busy with his Gran Turismo so it was a bit overbaked. ;) I was also short of time so the rest was only decorated by flowers.

Anyways, there’s always room for improvements. Hopefully I can make perfect characters soon.

Shrimp Fettuccine in Tomato Sauce

Shrimp Fettuccine in Tomato Sauce

The Napolina Chopped Tomatoes were on sale in our local grocery so I bought a pack of 4 and used one for this pasta dinner. I rarely cook red pasta sauce because Alyssa is not so into it as she like white better.

I just cooked the pasta, as usual. Then sauted the minced onion, garlic, shrimp and basil. Once shrimp turns red, I added the tomato sauce and let boil. Seasoned with salt and pepper. Voila! A yummy shrimp fettuccine for dinner! :)

I really have to cook that quick because I still have to search for some sites that buy gold bars as one client is interested to it. I better ask for 1 bar. Hhhmm… Let me joke her about it. Who knows she rides! ;)
