Malunggay Leaves, I’ll be needing you soon…

Before, we were considering 2 factors for the pregnancy – that the baby should be born on the month of August, the latest so it’ll be the right timing for school; that we can only try during certain months for the baby to be a boy. But now, hubby said, let’s just do it and never mind those factors.

It’s been 2 months already since we first tried conceiving, unfortunately we aren’t successful yet. We thought it’ll be easy that we’ll have it the first try, but as they say – the more you like it, the harder it will be. Still… we won’t give-up trying and praying. We know it will be given to us in God’s time.

I miss having a baby again, I miss the carying and taking good care of my own little one, and I miss breastfeeding. When I’ve just given birth, I often ask other mothers about how to product more breast milk and all of them suggested that I add malunggay leaves in every meal as much as possible and I did. I did it because ever since, I believe in the power of breastfeeding – its health benefits to the baby, the bond that it builts between the mother and the child, and the fact that it helps lose the pregnancy weight. I exclusively breastfed my daughter for 10 months, but if only circumstances allowed us then, I should’ve breastfed her longer.

Now, I’m looking forward to adding malunggay leaves again to most of my meals. I still don’t know if it exists in the land of the English, but if not, then I’d have to find other ways. Nothing can stop me from breastfeeding my future baby.

We Seriously Need Water!

I know I haven’t mentioned here yet – that we are a no-water family. Meaning, the three of us can live without frinking water. All we want is anything sweet – juice or soda. Bad yeah? I know! So what happened? Now, hubby and daughter are suffering from cough and the three of us from colds. Lesson learned? A bit. Because of that, we’re considering buying a water dispenser so it, being seen by us regularly, will be easier for us to reach out for water anytime of the day. And this one we’ve seen amazed us since it doesn’t need a gallon of water to work – it simply needs to be connected to the water supply and voila! We can have a very cold, cold, hot or boiling water in a flash.

My Little Apple Peeler

An APPLE a day, keeps the doctor away.

…and my little apple peeler has proven it time and again. I believe this helps in her whole year of being doctor-free.

Alyssa with her apple

See how she eats her apple? She munches on the peel first and makes sure nothings left before she eats the rest. :)

Her love for fruits and vegetables are really amazing. And with this particular fruit, I would say that I have done a great job – for this, they say, is the best colon cleanse – one study found that rats fed an extract from apple skins had a 43 percent lower risk of colon cancer. I know there are so much more health benefits of apples so I would want her to just love it.
