Sorry guys, it’s cake again for this week.
But hey! Did you see the featured entry on this week’s FTF? weew!!! I’m so so so happy! Thanks Marz Willa for picking my last week’s cake.

Been really eager to try the stripes/ribbons-effect. I’m not too happy with the outcome of this, though a lot of my friends are and yeah, my hubby too. He said this is really nice and I felt like he’s saying the truth.
But then, I didn’t have enough fondant on hand to add more decorations and since it’s only for practice, I didn’t want to bother myself to make some more, knead and color. At least I was able to suit my cravings for this kind of design.

…and here’s another cake for you all. Now, I hear you say, “Cake again?!?”
Uhmm, yeah. It’s because I am practicing my hands on designing cakes and cupcakes so if and when the cake business pushes through, which I don’t have an idea if it will ever be, I already have a portfolio on hand.

I am very happy that one of my most awaited orders from CSN store UK came in just in time. Can you see the cake stand?
Well, I know this cake is very very simple, but hopefully the creativity in me blooms as I go.
Did you know that Mother’s Day here in the UK is on the 4th Sunday of Lent so this year, it’s on the 3rd of April and so there’s where I got the inspiration. While making this, somehow it saddened me thinking that this should be a very nice cake for my dearest lola come Mother’s Day. Has she been alive, I would definitely be very proud to show her how much I’ve improved in the kitchen and that I can actually make cakes. Then suddenly I imagined how she would react, she would be like, “Oh yeah, it’s nice, but can I even taste that? The funeral cost is no joke these days and I have no plans of dying this early.” Haha! She was diabetic, that’s why. Oh, how I am missing her…

And another cupcake creation by yours truly.

I haven’t got the chance to fully prepare for this batch of cupcakes so sorry, it was a bit of a mess.
I will have to stress out my mistakes this time, most especially the George cupcake – where one of the ears and both legs are missing, plus the smudge of red on the face. It’s really difficult to work with incomplete tools. Cake craft supplies are a pricey so I have to purchase them slowly. The cake wasn’t that successful too since I missed a method and my dearest hubby who was tasked to take them out of the oven was busy with his Gran Turismo so it was a bit overbaked.
I was also short of time so the rest was only decorated by flowers.
Anyways, there’s always room for improvements. Hopefully I can make perfect characters soon.
